LA Galaxy’s Memo Rodriguez visits Coachella Valley scholar-athletes

LA Galaxy midfielder Memo Rodríguez, left, and LA Galaxy broadcaster Joe Tutino visit with Coachella Valley Unified School District migrant student athletes at Coachella Valley High School in Thermal, Calif., on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023.

Azael Lopez, 8, dressed in LA Galaxy’s all-white uniform on Monday, waiting around to see who from the staff would be shelling out him and other Coachella Valley student-athletes a check out. As soon as the 2nd grader from Martin Van Buren Elementary spotted midfielder Jose “Memo” Rodriguez, he grew targeted on the skilled soccer player’s recommendations for the match and in lifestyle.

Grinning from ear to ear, Lopez mentioned he likes observing LA Galaxy gamers since they “work really hard and are solid.”

About 50 other students from the Coachella Valley Unified College District gathered at the Coachella Valley Substantial gymnasium at 10 a.m. and very first heard from college personnel and mother and father about how furthering their scientific tests will permit them to observe their passions. But Rodriguez’s guidance was what created college students most fired up.
