Indigo, the largest airline in India, is set to expand its seat choice by introducing the luxuries of business class. The low-cost airline is known primarily for its economy class with variations like XL seats offering more legroom.

Considering India’s soaring economy and the rising demand for premium travel, Indigo has decided to expand its seat options.

For nearly two decades, Indigo has dominated the Indian aviation scene with its single-class economy configuration. The introduction of business class service is a huge game-changer for the airline, which boasts a fleet of more than 360 planes and operates around 2,000 flights daily, the Press Trust Of India reported.

Currently, Air India and Vistara are the only Indian airlines offering business-class seats on domestic flights. By December 2024, Indigo will join this exclusive category with its “tailor-made business product”.

Indigo’s business class operations will initially launch on the busiest domestic routes, offering flyers a more comfortable seat option on board the flight.  The airline plans to reveal more about the official launch date, exact routes, and offers by August 2024.

“Over the past 18 years, India’s and IndiGo’s growth stories have been closely interlinked. We believe as India gears up to become the third largest economy in the world, it’s our privilege to provide the New India even more options to choose from as they travel business,” shared Pieter Elbers, IndiGo CEO.
