The owner of Thirsty’s Burgers to launch food truck | Business & Economy

Thirsty’s Burgers is known for serving grilled food such as the Southwest burger and traditional jumbo wings in its restaurant, but now its food will hit the road.
The restaurant has been open since April 2, 2022, and is popular with tourists. The food truck, which will focus on Mexican food, will be called the Habanero Burrito Co.
“Habanero Burrito CO. LLC will be similar to QDOBA, Chipotle, and Moe’s, where you can get a make-your-own burrito or bowl,” said Rey Gotay, the owner of Thirsty’s. “Our food truck will be mainly parked at the Village Of The Valley where Thirty’s Burgers is located. However, we are excited to have a food truck that we can take to events and different locations throughout the valley.”
The hope for the food truck, Gotey said, is that it will gain more local customers along with the tourists.
“The decision to open Habanero Burrito Co. was rooted in our desire to give back to the community as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives,” Gotey said. “CSR reflects a business’s commitment to responsibly managing the social, environmental, and economic impacts of its operations. For us, it’s about supporting the community we are proud to be part of.”
Since 2019, every business the company has opened, from Old 33 to The Bagel Shack, has contributed to the local community through various donations, such as food, gift certificates, and support for schools, teachers, and students.
“With Habanero Burrito Co., we’ll have even more flexibility to participate in local events, provide food donations, and expand our outreach efforts,” Gotey said. “The food and beverage industry is a true passion of mine, and it gives me a platform to help others in meaningful ways. Through this food truck, we aim to combine our love for great food with the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us.”
Gotey said he believes in consistent quality, generous portions, and a welcoming vibe that makes customers glad they stopped by Thirsty’s.
“For some, it might be a quick and satisfying pit stop along Route 33,” he said. “For others, it’s about discovering a hidden gem that becomes their favorite spot. Either way, we are delivering more than just food—you’re delivering happiness, connection, and a memorable experience.”
Gotey said he has a similar hope for Habanero Burrito Co., which is to create a space where great food brings people together while making a meaningful impact in the community.
“The food truck allows us to reach more people, participate in local events, and provide fresh, flavorful meals directly to our customers,” he said.
“The best part of owning and operating Thirsty’s Burgers is probably the unique combination of creativity and connection. You can express our passion for crafting flavors that bring people joy through our unique custom spice mix, signature sauce, or the perfect never-frozen Angus burger. Plus, there’s the reward of watching customers enjoy what you’ve created—it’s like seeing your hard work and vision come to life in real time.”
